Another one of Eoin Colfers books, this one is also an easy read for an adult (well it is a young adult book...) with mostly action and a teensy bit of romance...

A good read though. Set in the future, cityapos;s are controlled by corps, and corps control everything..sounds like ShadowRun...but here, ye orphan boy, Cosmo Hill, escapes the home for hte parentally challenged (sounds very pc but isnapos;t as they experiment on the kidlets) and runs away to find blue supernatural beasties sucking the life out of everyone. Heapos;s saved by a midget, a girl, an outcast cop who are hunting said beasties.....

and iapos;m not spoiling the ending. Well worth a read.
